海がプラスチックごみでいっぱい
北太平洋だけでも日本の4倍以上の大きさを超えるプラスチックごみが渦巻いています
そのうちの46%は古くなったり紛失したり或いは意図的に捨てられたりした「ゴーストネット」と呼ばれる漁網で世界全体では毎年100万トン以上が海を汚染しながら漂流し続け無数の海洋生物を死に至らしめています
THE OCEANS ARE DROWNING IN A FLOOD OF PLASTIC WASTE.
In the North Pacific alone, there’s a plastic vortex over four times the size of Japan. (Great Pacific Garbage Patch) 46% of it consists of old, lost, or intentionally discarded fishing nets. Globally, up to 1 million more tons of these so-called “ghost nets” pollute our oceans every year, doing what they do best: they keep on fishing and kill countless marine animals.

BRACENET EXISTS TO STOP THIS !
We recover these ghost nets from the water to save our oceans and marine life. To this end, we closely collaborate with marine organisations Healthy Seas and Ghost Diving, whose international diving teams remove the nets in perilous missions from wrecks and reefs. We also partner with fisheries and receive their discarded fishing nets to prevent them from ending up at sea as ghost nets. Then, we upcycle all these nets into new products

OUR PRODUCTS ARE MADE OF OLD FISHING NETS.
In our workshops in Hamburg and Porto, we upcycle these recovered ghost nets and discarded fishing nets into new products. That means all of our products are made by hand from real used fishing nets. Each item is unique and shares the story of our mission. From our proceeds, we regularly donate to marine conservation efforts, totalling over 250,000 euros so far. Therefore, each product is a contribution to saving our seas for their future.
1. 回収
海洋保護団体Healthy SeasやGhost Divingと協力して水深30メートル以上の岩礁や難破船から「ゴーストネット」を回収しています
1. RETRIEVAL
Together with marine conservation organizations Healthy Seas and Ghost Diving, we free in depths of more than 30 meters reefs and shipwrecks of fishing nets that have been lost or intentionally sunk.
2. 洗浄
回収された「ゴーストネット」はパートナーのノフィール社によって専門的な工程を経て水で高速洗浄され初めてどんな色なのか知ります
2. CLEANING
After being retrieved, the nets are cleaned and treated by our partner Nofir using a specialist process.
We generally only know what color the nets are once they are lying cleaned in front of us.
3. 生産
「ゴーストネット」は私たちの工房で丁寧にひとつずつ手作業で加工され形や色などユニークなプロダクトに仕上がります
3. PRODUCTION
The nets are then further hand-processed by us in Hamburg and made ready for dispatch. Each finished Bracenet is a unique piece because of the varying net structures, colors, and sizes.
